Susan focuses on a range of Intellectual Property Law areas, including copyrights, patents, trademarks, trade secrets, trade regulation, and unfair competition.
Susan was admitted to practice in the state of Washington in 1996, the state of Oregon in 1998, U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in 2001, and U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon in 2004. She is a frequent lecturer, contrasting pretrial and trial practices and procedures in Washington vs. Oregon state courts.
She served as a law clerk for the Hon. Philip A. Talmadge, Justice, Washington State Supreme Court, in 1995 and for the Hon. Paul Bastine, Judge, Spokane County Superior Court, 1996. She has also served as a litigation associate for Stichman, Hoke, Fels, P.C., Stahancyk, Gearing, Rackner & Kent, P.C, and Gevurtz, Menashe, Larson & Howe, P.C.
Susan is a member of the Oregon Patent Law Association, Federal Bar Association, Washington State Bar Association, Oregon Bar Association, Oregon Women Lawyers, Multnomah Bar Association, Clark County Bar Association, and Sierra Community Arts Board of Trustees. She is past president of Clark County Young Lawyers, and a past trustee of WSBA Young Lawyers Division.
Susan earned her Juris Doctor degree at Gonzaga School of Law, Spokane, Washington, in 1996. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Gonzaga in 1993. She is currently studying Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Portland State University.
Susan’s hobbies include flying, camping, and theater.
