Kurt’s focus on Intellectual Property Law includes patent prosecution, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, and litigation and appeals.

Professional

Kurt was admitted to practice in the state of Oregon in 1997, U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon in 1999, U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in 2001; and U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in 2003. From 1998 to 2000 he was a litigation associate for Bullock and Regier. Kurt is a member of the Oregon Patent Law Association and Multnomah Bar Association. Representative clients include Cascade Microtech; Sharp Laboratories of America; Gunderson, Inc.; Cascade Corp.; and Leatherman Tool Group, Inc.

Education

Kurt earned his Juris Doctor degree in 1996 from the Northwestern School of Law of Lewis and Clark College, Portland, Oregon. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, Nebraska, in 1990. Currently Kurt is pursuing a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at Portland State University.
