Bill focuses on patent litigation, copyrights, patents, trademarks, trade secrets and computer law. Approximately 60% of his practice is devoted to litigation.
Bill is admitted to practice in the states of Oregon and Tennessee; U.S. Patent and Trademark Office; U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon; and U.S. Court of Appeals, Federal Circuit.
He is a member of the Oregon State Bar since 1983, the Multnomah Bar Association, a past secretary and vice president of the Oregon Patent Law Association, and a past member of the Tennessee Bar Association. Previously he served as a patent trial attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice, Patent Section, Civil Division.
Representative clients include Planar Systems, Inc., White's Electronics, Hardin Optical, Relcom, Inc., Xyron Semiconductor and World Class Technology.
Bill received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Vanderbilt University School of Law, Nashville, Tennessee, in 1973, and his Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Tulane University, New Orleans, Louisiana, 1969.
